There's a jam on for this right now, Islands! Islands!! Islands!!! Check it out.

Islands of Weirdhope, an ECO MOFOS!!game, is available to preorder now. This is the next game in my ongoing collaboration with illustrator Daniel Locke, my partner at Copy/Paste Co-op.

This is the free Quickstart - It will be updated to the latest Quickstart version, but, unlike the other entry this version will not be updated to the full ISLANDS OF WEIRDHOPE game. It's a Quickstart and a work in progress, so there may be elements that are missing or wrong- feel free to let me know, but having a copy of ECO MOFOS!! handy should solve most issues.

In Islands of Weirdhope, Players set sail as Windwaker meets Waterworld in this rules-light procedure-heavy TTRPG for solo and group play. Explore a near-future hazardous but hopeful world, smashing Corpo Schemes while discovering Monsters and Mecha lurking beneath the waves, guzzling ambergris to learn new spells. Explore an optimistic new world, weirdhope not grimdark.

"ECO Mofos is a fantastic design. The masterful writing, psychedelic art, and embarrassment of content make for a game that feels like it explodes out of the book, drenching your game table in beautiful filth." Chris McDowall, Creator of Mythic Bastionland and Into the Odd.

Islands of Weirdhope is a psychedelic self-contained new game with minimalist rules for group or Solo play that compliments the Award-winning ECO MOFOS!! rulebook, exploring the wonders and weirdness of the future seas. The game imagines a possible future brimming with hope but fundamentally weird. Built from procedural content generation, the GM can enjoy the surprise as much as the player Punks.

Uncover an uncanny and colourful world: a post-post-apocalyptic landscape, where coral covers submerged silos and tech is rediscovered and repurposed for this new world. Sailing across a vast archipelago of sunken cities and volcanic islands, punks will brave the Abyssal seas, confront mutated manta ray and renegade replicants, and delve into the depths of billionaire’s bunkers to salvage USBs of information about the world before.

I've been sharing thoughts on the development of this new game here so feel free to have a read to find out more.

I love the concept of Weirdhope contrasted against Grimdark (not that there's anything wrong w/GD). I think it's sorely needed by a lot of ppl today.

The mechanics are simple, based on Mark of the Odd system, it barely takes up a spread to summarize. The tables for generating content is EXTENSIVE. I don't even need to do prep - David Blandy you have valued my time as a GM/person lol.

Lastly, the setting of the seas takes the great Eco Mofos!! ethos to the ocean's, and as a GM I love sea-faring settings. There's so much potential. I hope everyone checks this out and gets the full release next year.

As ppl say in your country: "I say, good show!"

Eco Mofos and Islands of Weirdhope are games that feel more like they found me than the other way around. A perfect blend of simplicity, complexity, and phenomenal art makes for some of the most positive experiences I have ever had at the table, either as a GM or player.

Can’t wait for Islands of Weirdhope. Eco Mofos is one of my favorite games of all time!

Thank you, that’s lovely and baffling at the same time, but also made my day.

Eco Mofos has been so inspiring for me, and Islands of Weirdhope looks to take it to the next level! I'm already daydreaming about the solo campaigns I'll be playing in this world. Can't wait!

Thanks! I’m really looking forward to getting the solo mode really tight.

Eco Mofos has been a wellspring of awesomeness and inspiration for me, and a gust of fresh breath. I'm beyond excited that David Blandy is continuing this path with Islands of Weirdhope, and looking at this quickstart document, it will be a titan of a game.

Thanks Caelin, you’re a constant inspiration.

The two things I want from a tabletop roleplaying game book are useable systems for doing cool things (sailing! Giant robots!) and a beautifully presented, strange world to just exist in for a while. Eco Mofos managed to do both of those things, and this - its cooler, weirder, more confident sibling (or perhaps child? cousin? protege?) - manages to expand in both directions.

oh thanks so much! Glad you think it’s taking the game in interesting directions.

JP Coovert being nice about the game. Coolest TTRPG ever?! I’ll take that ;)

A little video me and Dan made

After reading the Quickstart, looks like it is going to be a solid game. Excited to see the finished game.

Thanks Ivo, really appreciate that!
